The Joy, Comfort, and Stress-Reducing Power of Lock and Leave Lifestyle
December 05, 2021
This is a key way to have a successful lifestyle that includes a safe, comfortable, and healthy environment.
In a perfect world, we wouldn't have to lock our houses because we would be comfortable and stress-free. However, a lot of people will lock their homes because they feel safe, and those are the people who are more likely to be sick or depressed.
Like a lot of things that have to do with the day-to-day things that we do, I think it’s important to understand that we can do things in a way that creates stress. Even if we don’t necessarily feel we’re in danger, it’s part of our way to a more comfortable, stress-free lifestyle.
In a way, I think we have to acknowledge that there are some people just who have a hard time relaxing when they should be doing something.
A lot of people would argue that if you are feeling a lot of stress, it is because you are living in a constant state of worry. Like I said, I don't think it's healthy for us to just lock our houses.
The problem is that if you can feel your stressors at any time, you can easily get caught up in them and can easily ruin your day. I don't want to sound like a broken record or anything, but I have a client who has a habit of locking her doors at night and leaving them open. It is so much easier to just lock my house and leave. The truth is that I have a client who locks her doors at night and stays up all night playing video games.
That's right, I said she locks her doors. I also said she stays up all night playing video games.
It's not a very good analogy, but it's not far off. If you're like me, you probably sleep with a light on in your bedroom, and you use that to get some extra sleep. I can only imagine how stressful that can be, especially if you're one of the millions of people who have a habit of leaving their doors unlocked.
If you keep your doors locked for years, and you lock them for years, you’re not going to sleep. Your bedroom window is full of a bunch of strange objects and can get stuck in. You’ll wake yourself up, and it’s a good thing you have a light on when you wake up.
I’ve been there.
I also understand how stressful it can be to wake up and lock your door. I’ve had a few instances where I actually had to call the cops. They’ll come to your door and your door will be open and locked for long periods of time. Your house will smell like smoke and you’ll have to make sure your windows are closed.
